Process Barron Awarded Engineering Contract Based on Superior Service Offerings
 
Pelham, AL - Process Barron was recently awarded a $6 million contract to design and manufacture four new, large induced draft boiler fans for a utility company in the Western United States. They received the contract over their competitors based on their excellent delivery timetable, price, quality, and services.

Process Barron estimated a one year delivery for fan construction and installation, which is an unusually long estimate by Process Barron standards, but short based on delivery timeframes proposed in competing bids. Process Barron was also one of the few bidding companies that designs and manufactures equipment completely in-house, while others commonly require subcontracting for manufacturing.

Engineers at Process Barron designed the fans to accommodate new requirements from additional boiler environmental equipment. The fans consisted of two 104" diameter airfoil fans (600,000+ acfm/16"WC), each driven by a 2500HP motor, and two 150" diameter airfoil fans (1.2m acfm/26"WC), each driven by 7,000HP motors.

Using customer supplied specifications, Process Barron designed and built complete fan assemblies in-house, including the housings, shafts, bearings, dampers, expansion joints, and wheels. SCRs were added, along with new NOX & SOX reducing air pollution equipment instead of traditional booster fans.

Process Barron is currently installing the 4 ID fans that were designed and built based on customer specifications. Process Barron's new replacement fans will reduce volume and pressure requirements, ensuring increased productivity.
