Process Barron Completes Aggressive Proposal with Time to Burn
 
Pelham, AL - Process Barron was recently awarded a $1.8 million contract with a Southeastern United States paper mill to design, manufacture, and install two large wood-yard chain reclaim bins that feed two wood fired boilers.

With today's increased fuel prices, companies seek solid solutions to reduce fuel consumption. Process Barron's project goals were to increase the wood burning capacity of the boilers and decrease the reliance on coal and natural gas.

Process Barron determined that newly designed reclaim bins would be the optimal replacement for the older style screw bins. The original reclaim bins required complete operational shutdown and manual extraction of failed screws at the expense of productivity. Process Barron promised to eliminate this problem, as the new, larger reclaim bins would isolate maintenance issues without affecting productivtity, allowing the boiler to burn wood at a greater operating capacity.

Process Barron engineers visited the job site to field measure and calculate the dimensions of the existing foundation and steel structures. Combining job site data with current and future wood burning requirements, Process Barron created a design that could be installed on the existing infrastructure with minimal capital investment.

Decreased down time results in increased profits, which is why Process Barron is an industry leader. The entire turn-key process, from project initiation to equipment installation and commissioning, was estimated at an aggressive 12 to 16 weeks. Process Barron's solution required only 7 days of operational shut down to accommodate the new reclaim bin installation.

Process Barron is currently 4 weeks into the project with completion scheduled within estimates. Process Barron's assertive turn-key solution will reduce boiler fuel consumption due to an increase in wood burning, resulting in a significant project payback to the paper mill.
