ProcessBarron was one of eight companies honored with the state of Alabama’s 2010 Governor’s Trade Excellence Award on March 11, 2011. The award was instituted in 2005 to encourage involvement in the global marketplace and honor companies that promote this goal. Governor Robert Bentley personally presented the award in the Old House Chamber at the State Capitol.
CEO, Ken Nolen was present to accept the award on behalf of ProcessBarron with Allen Ray, Ben Smith and Cynthia Parker in attendance. The governor praised this year’s award recipients as companies that have “helped sustain and create jobs by taking advantage of markets outside the US.”
Other distinguished attendees included: Senators Slade Blackwell, J.T. Waggoner, and Cam Ward; Representatives Mike Hill, Mary McClurkin, and April Weaver; Mayor of Pelham, AL, Don Murphy; and Executive Director of Shelby County Economic & Ind. Dev. Authority, James Dedes. The keynote speaker was Mr. Ro Khanna, Deputy Secretary, Domestic Operations for the US Dept of Commerce, International Trade Administration.
