These fans are typically very compact and are often used when limited space is a primary consideration. Operated at low speeds rendering smooth, quiet operation, forward curved fans are commonly associated with low pressure, high volume applications.
The performance curve of a forward curved fan is unique in that it has two points of peak pressure generation, while other mechanical draft fan designs have a single peak point. Accordingly, this design should not be used in applications where materials can accumulate in the curve of the blade and cause imbalance.
