Fly ash handling drag conveyor designs from ProcessBarron allow horizontal, vertical and combination styles for high capacity ash conveying arrangements. ProcessBarron can achieve 70 degrees of incline with almost 100% conveying efficiency. Ash conveyor casings are designed for air/dust tight operation with replaceable wear liners for erosion protection.
ProcessBarron’s typical ash conveyor design incorporates a single strand chain made of high strength drop forged CrMn steel. The fly ash conveyor’s forged links are heat treated to a surface hardness of 59/64 HRC to a depth of 0.7mm. ProcessBarron can also provide custom metallurgies and stainless steel conveyors for use in highly corrosive environments.
Additional fly ash drag conveyor design features include abrasion resistant, split hardened sprocket teeth with split hubs for easy replacement and unique shear pin roller chain drive sprockets for overload protection. All fly ash drag conveyors have special quick opening, tight shut-off, access doors of stainless steel construction at each end of the conveyor. All shafts have engineered, machined adjustable shaft seals at all casing penetrations for air & dust tight operation.

Bottom ash drag conveyor systems (also called bottom ash submerged drag chain conveyors) are a good solution for bottom ash handling needs. These submerged ash conveyor systems provide an air tight seal while still allowing ash and other materials to be removed from the boiler or furnace system.
As part of our ash conveyor equipment line, Process Barron designs, fabricates and installs custom designed submerged drag conveyor systems for solid fuel bottom ash applications. These bottom ash submerged drag conveyors feature special water-tight bearings and heavy duty welded chains that reduce stretching common with dual strand submerged conveyors.
